Course Description

This two week class introduces the topics of violent and nonviolent communication, with the aim of improving our connections with each other.

The first week will provide an introduction to nonviolent communication, a concept developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg which focuses on empathy and understanding. These principles will be discussed in a variety of examples, including parenting and Cesar Millan's The Dog Whisperer.

The second week will consist of a hands-on session where we will practice communicating according with the principles of NVC in various scenarios.

Your Instructor

Alex is a physicist and a student of life. He's also a big fan of Cesar Millan's The Dog Whisperer.

Dorrie is an emotional being who believes that non-violent communication is an essential tool for bettering our relationships and changing the world. She works in grassroots organizing and has a bachelor’s in cognitive psychology.
